Trainer Blog: M-Files DMS training for accountancy firm

One of my recent engagements was a training project working with a small team of Optimum training consultants, to support the implementation of the M-Files Documentation Management System (DMS) for an accountancy firm with a large global presence. This was an exciting opportunity to work with systems outside of ERP, as more and more companies are adopting new systems to ensure the confidentiality, accessibility and integrity of their documents and data.

Our team were already on site creating training documents when I joined this project. This meant I had to really hit the ground running and catch up with what the other consultants were doing, as well as liaising weekly with our client contact. We worked with the client using their preferred waterfall methodology project management tool, to keep track of our deliverables and schedule. Regular email briefs to the client as to the status of the project also ensured everyone was on the same page and we were hitting our deliverable targets.

Working together to break down the project modules, my colleagues and I delivered bespoke training materials for interactive classroom sessions, including reference guides, quick cards and trainer packs. We also created instructional videos using the Camtasia editing tool, and offered ad-hoc training in M-Files for new starters, to introduce them to the system and help them start adopting it straightaway.
