Project overview
  • Optimum created a comprehensive role-based Oracle Cloud ERP user training programme.
  • Workstreams included Financials, Warehouse Management, eCommerce, Production, Customer Service and Distribution.
  • Created a suite of reference guide, quick card, trainer packs and eLearning modules.
  • Integrated Oracle Cloud ERP and Oracle eCommerce solution.

An established sportswear manufacturer and retail brand recently partnered with ERP training consultancy Optimum to support its Oracle Cloud ERP implementation as part of their phase one rollout across Europe.

The organisation had opted to replace a wide range of legacy systems with one centralised Oracle Cloud ERP and eCommerce solution, combining their financials, warehouse management, ecommerce, production, customer service and distribution workstreams.

One of the principal drivers behind the implementation project was the extensive enhancement of their existing ecommerce platform. An integrated Oracle Cloud ERP and Oracle eCommerce solution will provide real-time updates about web sales and other online transactions. This in turn will allow the organisation to track accurate ecommerce sales, improving their ability to track and monitor inventory in real time and forecast what and how much is needed.

"The organisation immediately understood the importance of the end-user training phase from very early on in the project, communicating with us more than 12 months period to the user adoption phase starting – which is great to see."

The new Oracle eCommerce platform will also provide an up-to-date platform to manage its global Omni-channel business, allowing for improved consistency of brand proposition and presentation across all markets, developing more controlled and centralised decision making and processes.
The end user commerce audience trained experienced an array of new functionality with a higher level of technical understanding.

A separate tool to enable multi-channel personalization will also be rolled out and is to be used in conjunction with the web content management system to enrich the customer’s experience.

With regards to the development of the bespoke training materials, Optimum consultants created a suite of reference guide, quick card, trainer packs and eLearning modules for the entire Oracle ERP system before delivering the initial phase of end user training. The subsequent training delivery would be completed up by the businesses internal team, using Optimum’s trainer packs to ensure consistency.

This process involved the Optimum consultants completing knowledge transfer sessions with internal SMEs before writing the training courses and all documentation utilising the businesses highly customised system build, incorporating all business process content where required.

The training delivery started with a series of face-to-face sessions held over a three-week period at four sites across western Europe, with the rest of the training delivered virtually.

Speaking of the partnership, Joanne Harrison, Sales Director at Optimum said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have supported another global brand with the development and delivery of their Oracle Cloud ERP transformation.”

“The organisation immediately understood the importance of the end-user training phase from very early on in the project, communicating with us more than 12 months period to the user adoption phase starting – which is great to see. This allowed us to provide them with a fully planned-out training phase, which resulted in some fantastic end-user feedback throughout. We look forward to supporting the business again in the near future.”

The Optimum created training materials have all been shared with the sportswear brand in both PDF and editable formats, allowing for future localisation and formatting for newly acquired arms of the business going forward.
