Training for a world-leading packaging provider
Optimum has developed an end user training programme and materials for the Quebec manufacturing site of IPL Global (IPL) as part of the group’s rollout of IFS Cloud ERP as its new ERP solution.
IPL, a leading North American manufacturer of injection-moulded plastic products for the packaging, environment and material handling sectors, needed job specific user training for its maintenance and warehouse teams, plus a general introduction to IFS for all staff at the Canadian plant.
The training would be delivered in Quebecois, a specific French Canadian dialect, so Optimum had to create the materials in a way that made them as easy as possible to understand and to translate. The documentation was written in simple language and short sentences with very clear visuals to allow IPL to use in-house resources to carry out the translation and delivery.
Joanne Harrison, Optimum Sales Director
Following remote knowledge transfer sessions with IPL’s business process experts and IFS super users, Optimum created a series of end user training materials.
These ranged from detailed reference guides for daily users of IFS to quick cards for staff carrying out a simple warehouse process with a handheld scanner. They also produced train the trainer packs to support IPL’s super users in delivering the training internally.
Optimum’s end user programme has been designed to serve as a global training template for IFS as the system is rolled out across further IPL group sites. It will also act as a ‘business-as-usual’ training toolkit for new joiners or for staff changing roles within the maintenance and warehouse operations.
