Training for the food processing company that is responsible for the production of breakfast cereal brands.
Weetabix initiated a business transformation programme affecting all areas of the organisation, centred around the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) ERP alongside various other ISV solutions.
Known as Transformabix, this initiative aimed to replace Microsoft’s Dynamics AX2012 and Navision ERP systems. D365 was rolled out as a global template across three trading entities in two distinct business release phases.
The senior leadership team recognised the importance of a professionally designed training programme to ensure staff engagement and adoption of the new solution. As a result, selecting Optimum as their training partner.
Joanne Harrison, Optimum Director
After conducting a scoping exercise to map the training phase, Optimum deployed ten experienced D365 training consultants from their permanent team. Together they developed tailored courses and documentation covering key areas, including Finance, Plan to Produce, Warehouse Management, Order to Cash, Quality, Procurement, and Master Data.
The objective was to develop a best-practice, job-specific user training programme featuring targeted courses and consistent, high-quality supporting documentation. Optimum consultants played a fourfold role:
Speaking of the project, Optimum’s Director Joanne Harrison said:
“Weetabix recognised that securing early support from senior leadership for the training investment was essential to the programme’s success. They also emphasised the value of bespoke end-user training to ensure staff were fully prepared to operate efficiently at go-live.
“The collaborative approach they chose was highly effective, as it developed internal training capabilities and fostered long-term self-sufficiency within the organisation. They truly exemplified the ideal customer.”
Working with Optimum meant that Weetabix had the flexibility to offboard the Optimum team after the first business release and reengage them for the second release as needed. This flexibility is key due to the changing shape of most ERP projects.
The result of the collaboration has left Weetabix with a robust internal training framework, with courses and materials that can be used to support business as usual requirements throughout the life of the new ERP system.
