Project Detail

NHS Property Services (NHS PS) embarked on a Business Transformation Programme to modernise its core systems and streamline operations. The programme integrated three key solutions: Microsoft Dynamics NAV (ERP system), an asset management and property billing system, and a platform for supplier and customer transactional document exchange. This transformation enabled NHS PS to transition from a healthcare-oriented Shared Business Service (SBS) to a tailored property services model, leveraging NAV’s flexibility for improved financial and asset management.

The existing system, designed for healthcare operations, imposed limitations such as rigid adherence to the NHS Chart of Accounts and a lack of features tailored to property management. Manual processes and heavy reliance on spreadsheets further hindered efficiency. NHS PS needed a solution that would allow them to define their own business processes, optimise fixed asset management, and reduce dependence on manual workflows.

Training approach

Optimum developed bespoke Finance training materials covering P2P, General Ledger, Bank and Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Budget Holders/Approvers. Each course was designed to equip employees with the skills required to operate effectively at go-live, incorporating unique business processes and reinforcing positive change messages.
