The IT training consultancy Optimum has designed and delivered end-user training on a new Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 ERP system for a popular UK-based family fashion brand.

The clothing and footwear retailer is replacing a range of legacy systems with the Dynamics AX 2012 ERP system in order to increase the efficiency of its manufacturing, distribution and retail operations and improve its management information. The system has gone live in the UK and will be rolled out next year to operations in the US and Hong Kong.

The retail operation has no in-house training resource and appointed Optimum to plan, design and deliver role-based end-user courses and materials for its UK head office team. The lesson plans, syllabus, exercises, and reference guides were for the finance, trade / wholesale and logistics operations.

The system has gone live in the UK and will be rolled out next year to operations in the US and Hong Kong.

In addition, Optimum delivered training around the user acceptance testing phase of the system. Dynamics AX 2012 super users from the US were also given skill-the-trainer sessions on top of those provided by their implementation partner HSO, to equip them with the knowledge and skills to cascade down the end-user training within the US operation. Feedback was that both these training elements were particularly well received.

A full set of training documentation for each module has been handed over to the retailer to adapt and update as it rolls out Dynamics AX 2012 and develops its use of the system’s functionality.
