Advertising & Media ERP Training

We partner with advertising and media organisations to provide customised ERP training and change solutions.

Tailored advertising & media ERP user adoption programmes

Having supported various global advertising and media businesses, Optimum has the experience to provide you with an unparalleled end-user training programme for any business system. This includes all ERP systems, covering workstreams such as finance, HR/payroll, customer services, planning, service and ecommerce.

Your end-user training programme must be targeted so the right content is being trained to the right audiences. This fast-moving sector where the end users are both customer facing and office based brings with it a unique set of challenges when training.

Firstly, there is typically significant differences in the level of user ability. Secondly, depending on how old the existing processes have been in place, there will be resistance to change. Finally, the timing of the training must be flexible and not hinder business in any way.

Advertising & media ERP systems we regularly support

We can train on any business system, whether it’s off-the-shelf, a customised equivalent or an ERP system built specifically for your business. Here is a selection of systems on which we regularly support.

Typical advertising and media audiences we support

As with any industry it’s important to select an ERP training consultancy who are experienced in working with advertising and media user groups. Having partnered with over 30 advertising and media brands across the globe, we’re perfectly placed to do this. Here are a few of the user groups we typically support during retail projects.

This audience need to be proficient in the marketing and CRM function provided by their system solution. Training for these audiences should be underpinned by the typical journey for a lead becoming a prospect, opportunity and then customer. Marketing campaigns should be realistic and engage with the learner to reflect what their needs will be when they go live.

Classroom sessions would typically be delivered to these types of users addressing all areas including the involvement of other areas of the business such as advertising, market research, production, sales and distribution.

Roles include Marketing Executives, Customer Services, New Business etc.

This audience will need their training in shorter modules so they are not taken out of the business for long periods. Providing 0.5 day modules will ensure continuity of the Purchasing function.

Purchasing is typically one area of a business which changes significantly with the introduction of an ERP solution so super user courses for local champions would provide support across the business.

Roles include Procurement Teams, Contract Managers, Purchasing Executives etc.

The Advertising installers will require training on how to pick up and process jobs on their hand-held device and possibly order parts. To ensure maximum learning, real examples of jobs should be used to make it relevant. This training should be short so could be delivered at the start or end of a shift.

Designers and content writers could receive relatively light touch training using generic functionality such as inputting expenses, raising requisitions and requesting leave. These can be addressed using online learning.

Roles include Designers, Content Writers, Advertising Installers etc.

Training for these audiences must factor in the roles carried out by the Sales and Account teams. Providing short and focussed modules with online learning for any forms/procedural content means this user community can control when their learning takes place rather than expecting them to attend a classroom session.

If Q&A needs to be included in a learning event, live sessions can be delivered so the audience can dial in/Skype to participate.

Roles include Regional Managers, Account Managers, Sales Executives etc.

Timing for the training of finance users is paramount and cannot disrupt their end of month/quarter commitments. Your training programme should train on a build which will be familiar to the audience when they go live, introducing walkthroughs using your COA, approval hierarchy and data.

Classroom training is popular with these audiences, however, if the audiences are overseas, modular delivery across WebEx/Skype can be delivered in shorter durations.

Roles include Management Accountants, Finance Assistants, Treasurers etc.

HR works closely with the departmental administrators as well as recruitment. Their core system users are normally the HR administrators who will require hands-on training so they are competent for go live.

Users such as HR business partners and line manager approvers will not require classroom training but a short session on the core benefits, their role in the process and the functionality they are required to use.

Roles include HR Administrators, HR Business Partners, Line Managers etc.
